Privacy & data protection
This page explains how Fountain Head Lodge No. 9707 ("the lodge", "we") handles personal information when you visit this website or contact us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with UK data protection law.
Information we collect
If you choose to email us using the address on our contact section, we will receive whatever information you include in that message — typically your name, email address, and the details of your enquiry. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to collect anonymous information about how visitors use the site (see Cookies and analytics below). We do not collect any other personal data automatically as you browse.
How we use your information
We use the information you send only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss membership of the lodge. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your request.
- We do not add you to any mailing list without your clear agreement.
- We store correspondence securely and limit access to lodge officers who need it.
- Where we use analytics, we do so only with your consent and only in anonymised, aggregate form.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. This website does not use any cookies that are necessary for it to function, and it sets no cookies at all unless you choose to accept them.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (a service provided by Google) to understand how visitors find and use our website, so we can improve it. When you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and collects information such as the pages you visit, roughly how long you spend on them, and general, non-identifying details about your device and approximate location. We have enabled IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is not stored by us.
We use this information only in aggregate, to see things like which pages are most useful. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. No analytics cookies are set unless you click "Accept". If you decline, no Google Analytics is loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of the home page.
Google processes this data on our behalf. You can read about how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. To make any such request, please contact us via the email address on our contact section.
